University of WashingtonThe University of Washington is established in 1854 based on the recommendation of Governor Isaac Stevens. The university was originally called the Territorial University of Washington in 1861. The school went through a lot of hardships that it even had to close, not just once, but three times. However, it managed to recover and the university flourished through the years and even opened new campuses in Tacoma and Bothell in 1990. These schools are now offering many programs organized in different departments.

University of Washington Departments

  • School of Law, offers First to Thrid Year J.D. Curriculums plus some practice skills courses
  • School of Dentistry, has a wide array of programs organized under the Departments of Endodontics, Oral Health Sciences, Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, and Periodontics.
  • School of Pharmacy, offers programs under the Departments of Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, and Medicinal Chemistry.
  • School of Medicine, offers undergraduate, MD, PhD, and other degree programs for careers in the health care industry.

University of Washington Application Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree earned from a college/university that has earned regional accreditation (or its equivalent when earned from a foreign institution)
  • Application Form, completed online via the Application for Graduate Study online system
  • Transcript of Records
  • Grade point average, minimum of 3.0, in either 60 graded semester or 90 graded quarter credits
  • Application fee
  • English proficiency, such as language proficiency test scores for international applicants
  • Visa status for international students
  • Further admission requirements specified by the department

University of Washington Admission Process

The University of Washington Admission Process may last up to four months. Decisions are usually sent to the applicants via postal or electronic mail. If being offered admission, the applicant will be given a chance to either accept or decline. If accepted, the next steps to take will be shown in the Graduate Application Status page online.
